A lot of the knitting-related stories and roundups you see on other, more mainstream, non-knitting websites are usually pretty silly, but this is a great one.
Recently Book Riot collected 22 patterns for knit mitts and mittens (and they actually almost all are knit, not crocheted) inspired by literature. From Harry Potter to the Hunger Games, comic books to The Secret Garden, this is a really great collection that is sure to inspire you to pull out your knitting and your favorite book.
It’s hard to pick a favorite, but the Lantern Waste Mittens by Kjerstin Gjengedal and inspired by The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe are really excellent. When you put the hands together they make a full wolf face on the palms. So cool.
I’d love to hear which of these strike your fancy or if you’ve even knit anything — mitts or otherwise — inspired by a favorite book, movie or TV show. I’ve made a Harry Potter scarf, of course!

Just finished an R2D2 hat for an 11-year old grand-niece. Hope she likes it!
