If you’re a certain age you might remember socks with pom-poms on the back. You might have even knit short socks or slippers with a pom-pom on the back as one of your early knitting projects.
That’s what the Hop, Skip + A Jump socks, designed by Ainur Berkimbayeva for Purl Soho, remind me of. Except here the pom-pom is replaced with bobbles that go all the way around the leg.
These socks are super cute and not that difficult to knit. The two-color rib is easy to stitch, and after the bobbles it’s a quick matter to knit the feet and get these cuties on your feet.
The pattern is available in five sizes from toddler kid to adult large. You can grab the free pattern from Purl Soho.

We’re a big Studio Ghibli household, and while they are sometimes very protective of their copyrights (as evidenced by the number of patterns on Ravelry that were removed from the service when it received a takedown notice back in 2021), there are still a fair number of Totoro knitting patterns (as well as other designs I’m sure we’ll get to someday). Let’s check them out!
