From the Reno Gazette Journal:
The Golden Heart Knitting Project plans to donate 100 teddy bears with knitted outfits to the Reno Fire Department to be used to comfort children when fire or other disasters strike. Firefighters from the Moana Lane station will accept the bears at the Classic Residence by Hyatt.
The project began in 2006 as part of the “Gift of Love Program” of the Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God church to knit hats and scarves for the homeless.
The group has knitted and delivered more than 800 scarves, 300 hats and more than 1,000 outfits for teddy bears.
Cool idea!
