Happy new year! I hope you’re starting the year off right, with some crafting.
Lion Brand Yarn recently posted a collection of trends they’re seeing in fashion and yarn crafting right now that you might want to take into consideration when planning your projects for the winter.
Among other things, they note the use of big yarn and big shapes, stripes and bold color combinations and the comeback of faux-fur trim as things you’re sure to see in stores and on knitting needles through the winter.
Are you using any of these trends in your knitting projects? I used a lot of giant yarn in cowls for the holidays, and I’m loving a slouchy look right now, too.
I’d love to hear what you’re knitting and to wish you a warm and wooly new year!

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
