5 Men’s Sweater Knitting Patterns

May 26, 2021 by Sarah White

My husband is not much of a sweater wearer (and now that he’s been working from home he didn’t wear a sweater all winter because he didn’t really have to leave the house) so I’ve never knit a sweater for a guy before.

But I know there are guys who like sweaters, and people who like to knit sweaters for guys (whether the guys themselves or some loved one), so today I bring you a handful of great men’s sweater knitting patterns you can find on Etsy. Still, want more knitting patterns for Men ? Check out these patterns on Sirdar’s website.

If you want to keep it super simple, this plain Stockinette, top down pullover form Cookie the Knitter is just the thing. It has a classic fit with a little positive ease and is available in five sizes up to 51 inches.

Add a little texture and you get the Obersee sweater form the Blue Mouse. This one is a top down raglan worked in moss stitch, and it’s meant to be a relaxed style with up to 6 inches of positive ease. There are eight sizes up to a chest measurement of 68.25 inches.

The Gear Cardigan from Vi Talina Craft is a great grandpa cardigan with a little more style, and is worked in pieces in bulky yarn. There are five size options up to 46.5 inches.

I love this cowl necked pullover with cables down the sleeves from Irmian Design. It’s a classic look with a little style, plain enough for guys who like plain sweaters but not so plain as to look like you could have bought it at a store. Five sizes are available up to a 50/52 inch chest.

Take it all the way classic with this fantastic Norwegian colorwork sweater from Katrine’s Designs. This is a stunning design inspired by the sweaters found around Setesdal, Norway, though it does include seamless raglan shaping at the shoulders rather than being knit in the traditional way. I would definitely knit this for myself (it’s available in one size).

finding men’s knitting patterns can be a bit of a challenge, but these 5 men’s sweater patterns prove that there are plenty of stylish options out there for men who love to knit. From classic cable knit designs to more modern and contemporary styles, these patterns offer a wide range of options for men of all ages and tastes.

One of the most striking things about these patterns is their classic style. Men’s fashion tends to be more timeless than women’s, and these sweater patterns reflect that. They all feature clean lines, simple shapes, and subtle details that make them perfect for any man who wants to look put-together and polished without being too trendy. This is a great way to ensure that the sweater you knit will be a timeless piece that can be worn for years to come.

In addition, these sweater patterns are also a great option for men who are new to knitting or who haven’t knit in a while. They are relatively easy to follow, even for beginners, and they’re a great way to build your knitting skills. Plus, the finished product is a stylish and practical piece of clothing that any man would be proud to wear.

Furthermore, these sweater patterns are also perfect for those who are looking for a gift for the men in their life. Many men are hesitant to knit for themselves, so it’s a great way to show them that you care and that you want them to have something handmade and unique.

Overall, these 5 men’s sweater knitting patterns are a great way to add some style and warmth to any man’s wardrobe. They’re classic, easy to knit, and perfect for any man who wants to look and feel great. So, whether you’re a man looking for a new knitting project or a knitter looking for a gift for the men in your life, these patterns are definitely worth checking out.
