American snowboarder Chloe Kim caused a stir in the knitting world with her awesome — and awesomely simple — Team USA hat at the Winter Olympics.
The hat, worked in chunky, cream colored yarn in ribbing, with a giant pom-pom on top, is quick and easy to re-create at home.
Marly Bird made a knit and crochet version of the Snowboarder’s Hat using Red Heart Super Saver chunky yarn.
Another version was designed by Ravelry user Barrettangie worked with two strands of yarn held together. She says hers can be knit in just a couple of hours.
I also just found one from Lisa Robtoy, using Lion Brand Hometown USA. They’re all great!
But any chunky hat pattern worked in single rib would make for a fabulously warm and quite of-the-moment hat.
While no one would likely use a knit backpack for school, knitting a backpack is a fun way to show off your knitting skills and carry around your project or everyday essentials instead of using a purse. Check out these cute backpack knitting patterns and stitch one up for your next project.
