My Favorite Things Knitwear Review: Is This Pattern Website Worth Browsing?

October 22, 2026 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

Some knitting websites make me want to buy yarn. Others make me want to rethink my entire wardrobe. My Favourite Things Knitwear falls into that second category, with the sort of understated garments that make a plain jumper look like a very good idea indeed.

If you’ve been searching for “my favorite things knitwear,” the website you’re looking for uses the spelling My Favourite Things Knitwear. It’s a knitting pattern brand with a strong focus on wearable pieces, thoughtful proportions and clothes you can imagine reaching for repeatedly.

After exploring the website and its public pattern descriptions, I can see the appeal. There are also a few things I would check carefully before buying, particularly sizing, yarn requirements and the language of the pattern.

This review covers the website and publicly available product information. I haven’t knitted these designs or assessed the complete purchased pattern instructions.

What Is My Favourite Things Knitwear?

My Favourite Things Knitwear is the work of Louise, whose background includes more than a decade in the Danish fashion industry. On the website’s About page, she explains that the brand grew from a desire to create lasting wardrobe pieces in response to the pace of mass-produced fashion.

That approach comes through in the collection. The emphasis is on considered shapes and useful garments rather than novelty projects. The designer describes a range of difficulty levels, although I would still assess each pattern individually before choosing a first garment project.

For knitters who enjoy making clothes they can actually wear with their existing wardrobe, that is a promising starting point.

What Can You Find on the Website?

The shop includes categories for sweaters, cardigans, vests, hats, scarves, skirts, shorts, tops, blouses and gloves.

I like that breadth. You can browse beyond the usual winter jumper and consider lighter layers or smaller accessories, depending on what you need and how much knitting you fancy taking on.

The overall impression is of a coordinated handmade wardrobe. If you enjoy uncomplicated styling and letting the knitted fabric do the talking, there is plenty to explore on the My Favourite Things Knitwear website.

Two Patterns That Show What the Brand Offers

Blouse No. 6: A Classic Everyday Layer

Blouse No. 6 is a crew-neck design worked seamlessly from the top down. The recommended yarn is Gepard Eco Cashmere Vintage, giving it a distinctly luxurious starting point.

The English listing includes sizes XS through 5XL, with finished bust measurements from 92 to 152 cm. It recommends approximately 5 to 8 cm of positive ease.

What I appreciate here is the amount of information available before purchasing. The listing gives measurements, gauge, needle sizes and yarn quantities, which helps you assess both fit and project cost.

The appeal, for me, is its usefulness. This is the sort of shape I would consider for wearing with jeans, trousers or a skirt, rather than saving for a particular occasion.

At the time of checking, the digital pattern was listed at 55 DKK, with the PDF download sent by email.

Sweater No. 9: A Chunkier Wardrobe Option

Sweater No. 9 offers a heavier knit with raglan sleeves, a high neckline and a relaxed fit. It is worked from the top down, with regular and shorter length options.

The listing includes sizes XS through XXL and describes approximately 15 cm of positive ease. Its recommended fabric combines Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino with Soft Silk Mohair, holding one strand of each together.

That yarn combination is something to consider before filling your basket. You are buying yarn for two strands throughout the project, and the brushed fibre affects the finished appearance.

This English PDF pattern was also listed at 55 DKK when checked.

These two examples also show why it pays to read individual listings: the size range, fit and yarn requirements differ.

What I Like About Shopping for Patterns Here

Useful Information Before You Commit

For the two garment listings above, you can check important project details before purchasing.

That matters. A beautiful photograph might tempt us into a project, but measurements and yarn quantities help us decide whether we should actually cast it on.

I would much rather discover that a jumper needs more yarn than my budget allows before buying the pattern. The yarn stash may be impressive, but it does not automatically contain seven matching balls of the correct thing.

A Clear Wardrobe Focus

The collection feels particularly appealing for knitters who want repeat-wear garments.

A restrained design can be wonderfully versatile. It also gives you room to choose a colour that suits your clothes, rather than feeling tied to the sample.

If cosy layers are your weakness, our collection of chunky knit cardigan patterns offers more shapes to compare before settling on your next project.

What I Would Check Before Buying

Choose the Correct Pattern Language

The website sells separate language versions of patterns. Check the product title carefully and select English if that is the version you need.

For example, the Blouse No. 6 collection displays several language options as separate listings.

Use Measurements, Rather Than Your Usual Clothing Size

A size label is only a starting point.

Compare your body measurements with the finished garment measurements and the recommended ease. Positive ease is the extra room between your body and the garment, and different amounts create noticeably different silhouettes.

It also helps to measure a jumper you already enjoy wearing. That gives you a practical reference for deciding whether a proposed finished size sounds comfortable.

Calculate the Yarn Cost First

Cashmere and yarn combinations involving mohair can make a gorgeous fabric, but the pattern price is only part of the project budget.

Check the quantity required for your chosen size and length. If you want to substitute yarn, consider fibre content, metreage, fabric weight and drape as well as gauge.

Our advice on getting the right knitting gauge is a useful starting point. Wash and dry your swatch as you intend to care for the finished garment before measuring it.

Match the Project to Your Skills

Simple-looking clothing can still involve unfamiliar shaping or finishing.

Before choosing a pattern, check the construction information and any stated techniques. Top-down construction can be helpful, but it does not automatically make a garment suitable for an absolute beginner.

If a sleeveless layer feels like a more manageable step, browse our easy vest knitting patterns, which already includes a My Favourite Things design.

Is My Favourite Things Knitwear Worth a Look?

Yes, particularly if you enjoy modern knitting patterns for wearable wardrobe basics.

The strongest appeal is the combination of understated styling and useful information on the garment listings I checked. You can consider the finished measurements, construction and materials before committing to a purchase.

My reservations are practical ones: sizing varies between designs, premium yarn can increase the total cost, and attractive styling cannot tell you how clearly a purchased pattern will read.

I would start by choosing one garment that fills an actual gap in your wardrobe. Check the measurements, price the yarn and make the swatch.

There is something very satisfying about finishing a beautiful knit. There is even more satisfaction in discovering it is the one you keep pulling out of the drawer.
