Canada Day is coming up soon, and it’s been a while since I’ve shared any Canada knitting patterns, so I thought I’d take a look at some new patterns or ones I haven’t shared before. These are great to knit any time of year to show your Canadian pride or to gift to your favorite Canadian.
Decorate your house with a maple leaf flag with this fun pattern from By Ladyship Designs on Etsy. It uses worsted weight yarn and is designed to fit a 12 by 16 inch pillow. It’s worked in stockinette stitch and the pattern is only in English.
Clean up a little around the house with a maple leaf washcloth. This one is by Sweet Yarns and uses a single color of worsted-weight yarn. You can grab the pattern from Ravelry.
Not Enough for Soup on Etsy has a cute Canada inspired maple leaf hat pattern, which uses worsted weight yarn. There are options in the pattern for a beanie, a headband and a beret (which is worked in fingering weight yarn).
Katie Pomper’s My Canada is another cute hat pattern that lets you decide what Canadian things you like the most. There are 20 different design bands you can add to the hat, from maple leaves (or is it leafs?) to bits of plaid, the words “I’m sorry” and more! The pattern can be worked in different yarn weights as well so it’s totally a choose your own adventure, Canada style! You can get the pattern on Ravelry.
How about some mittens to go with your hats? The Canada Flag Mittens by KnitWits Heaven are exactly that, worked in worsted weight yarn with lots of Canadian colorwork. The pattern is available on Ravelry.
Finish up your Canadian outerwear ensemble with a red and white scarf. This World Cup scarf from Sirdar is super simple and quick to knit in a color blocked pattern using two strands of DK weight yarn held together. This pattern is also on Ravelry.
