Eddie Redmayne won the Oscar last night for Best Actor for his role in The Theory of Everything, where he played Stephen Hawking, but some knitters have seen his face before, when he worked as a model for Rowan Yarns.
Eddie modeled for the yarn company back in 2004, when he was 22 years old and the look denim was hot (some things never change).
Rowan shared pictures like the one here of the freckled star from their book Denim People, where he modeled sweaters called Saucer, Combat and Brooklyn. To celebrate his win, Rowan has released a free PDF of the pattern for Brooklyn, shown above and designed by Martin Storey.
The article form the Daily Mail linked above pokes fun at his knitwear modeling past, but it worked out OK for Kate Moss, who also used to model for Rowan.

While no one would likely use a knit backpack for school, knitting a backpack is a fun way to show off your knitting skills and carry around your project or everyday essentials instead of using a purse. Check out these cute backpack knitting patterns and stitch one up for your next project.
