If you like your Halloween knits a little more subtle than pumpkins and ghosts, check out the Papa Spooky Cowl from Shauna Caffrey.
This spooky knit uses stranded knitting to produce skulls and curlicues. It’s worked in the round from the bottom up and uses Aran or worsted weight yarn in two colors.
This is actually a good introduction to colorwork because it’s a bold pattern that repeats around the body of the cowl, so you get lots of practice.
You can grab a copy of the free pattern from Ravelry.
