April 28, by Sarah White. Leave a Comment

tips for combinig yarnsThere comes a time in every stasher’s life when they have a hankering to combine a couple of yarns to make a yarn of a different weight.

Patty Lyons, writing on the Mason-Dixon Knitting website, offers some general advice on combining yarns to make yarn of a different weight, with the advice to always swatch to gain more information about how the colors and weights of the yarns you are combining (if you’re not just doubling up on the same yarn) will work together.

Spoiler alert: it’s not always the way you think.

Come for that helpful advice, stay for tips on changing colors and picking up stitches. Solid advice all around.
