There’s a lot to love about Portland, Ore., not the least of which is the thriving fiber arts scene. Knitters and crocheters are making themselves known in a big way this holiday season with a revolving yarn bombing of the statues in Pioneer Courthouse Square.
From now through Christmas the statues will be decked out in knit and crocheted finery, and their outfits will change weekly. That’s a lot of yarn!
The idea is that it won’t just be the statues that get warm, as Portlanders donate warm winter clothing to Transition Projects at locations throughout the city.
