Quick Knits to Show Your Love

February 7, by Sarah White. Leave a Comment

While hearts aren’t just for Valentine’s Day, if you’re looking for a quick-to-knit project for that holiday or to show someone you care any time of year, we’ve got you covered.

These funny conversation cozies (inspired by conversation hearts) are quick little projects you can make with your yarn leftovers. With sentiments like “be mine,” “gal pal,” and “you rock,” they can be for friends or others (there’s also a “bite me” for that sarcastic friend). These are designed by Robin Smallwood and available on Ravelry.

This interlocking hearts washcloth is super quick to stitch and would be nice to give to a friend as part of a spa set with a nice bar of soap and a candle for Galentine’s Day or when someone needs a pick-me-up. You can get it from Daisy and Storm on Etsy.

Speaking of spa gifts, you could also stitch up the heart candle sock from Andrea Bergstrom via Ravelry. It’s worked in crochet thread so it’s not the fastest project, but it is pretty small so it still doesn’t take that long to work. You can slide it over a candle or a Mason jar.

How about a Valentine’s Day gnome tea cozy? This one from Kim J. Williams on Ravelry is made with two strands of DK weight yarn held together for the main cozy part and a single strand for the gnomish details. It’s made to fit a six-cup teapot.

You could also make up some heart coasters to go with your tea cozy. These, from Greene Crafts on Etsy, have a textured heart and are worked in a single color of yarn. The coasters are just over 4 inches square so you can stitch them up in no time.

Or try these heart-shaped coasters from UkrainWillWin on Etsy. These big hearts can be used as coasters or washcloths, or make a bunch of them to make a garland or table runner.
