Quite awhile ago, I found the Irish Hiking Scarf and decided to knit it. I loved it. The pattern was so easy and although I knitted it in a warm worsted weight, it was still rather elegant. The only change, if I were to knit it again is to maybe add to it’s width, making 4 or 5 cables up and down rather than just 3.
I knit mine in green, and I realize that shocks you, but it’s what I had (also a perfect stashbuster project).
So, my point? Cool, easy (did I mention free?) pattern, nice looking results, and reversible! Go here: http://www.helloyarn.com/irishhikingcarf.htm

I made this scarf for a friend who has MS and needs to keep his neck warm all day even in the house. I’ve made a few scarves for him and he said this was the best one.
The pattern is easy and fast.

I also made this scarf (color same as yours!) as a Christmas gift for my husband this year. He loved it! It is gender neutral, simple, and in baby alpaca, super soft. It was my first time cabling, and this is so easy that I am no longer intimidated by cables.

The link is no longer working 🙁 Do you know where else I could find this pattern? Thanks!
