Maybe a turn is more accurate than a twist, but the Plication mitts by Elizabeth Felgate use Garter Stitch, short rows and clever folding to make mitts with shifting stitches.
The pattern has four different sizes and you can use three different weights of yarn, so you can use just about whatever yarn you have on hand to make these little mitts.
They’re a great gift idea and the perfect little mitts to stash in your bag or keep in your office for times when your hands get cold. You can grab the pattern on Ravelry for £3.70, or about $5.

We’re a big Studio Ghibli household, and while they are sometimes very protective of their copyrights (as evidenced by the number of patterns on Ravelry that were removed from the service when it received a takedown notice back in 2021), there are still a fair number of Totoro knitting patterns (as well as other designs I’m sure we’ll get to someday). Let’s check them out!
