I don’t know why so many quick knitting projects use Seed Stitch and its cousin Moss Stitch. I guess because they are a little more interesting to knit than Garter or Stockinette, and they look a little fancier without a lot of work.
Maybe it’s because they are a little more interesting than your average plain knitting, so “just one more row” keeps us stitching a little longer.
Whatever the reason, my recent quest for quick knitting projects led me to lots of designs using those easy textured stitches. Here’s another one that caught my eye.
The Seed Stitch Hat from the Northern Moose is also a project that uses bulky yarn so it knits up quickly because of that, too. It’s a simple pattern that uses only one ball of yarn (in this case Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick). The faux-fur pom-pom is optional but adorable.
