On my recent vacation, one of my projects was a sock (yes, I only knit one, and have still only knit one). Socks are a great travel project because they don’t take a lot of yarn but they can take a decent amount of time, so you get a lot of value for the amount of space they take up in your bag.
The Summer Picnic Socks from This Handmade Life use two colors so you have to carry around a little more yarn, but they’re also short socks so you can probably knit the whole pair on vacation. That’s one way to beat second sock syndrome!
The socks are worked in fingering weight yarn from the top down and the gingham pattern is charted and worked in stranded colorwork.
You can get the pattern on Ravelry.
