I know it’s not quite the season for a big bulky knit in the northern part of the world, but there’s nothing like a simple, beautiful knit when you need a little comfort.
The Gentle cardigan by Brandi Cheyenne Harper for Purl Soho is just such a design. Worked in Stockinette Stitch with I-cord edgings to prevent curling, this big project works quickly thanks to the huge yarn and size 15 and 17 US knitting needles called for.
If you don’t have that much jumbo yarn lying around, play with stripes or a fade effect by holding a couple of strands of bulky or three strands of worsted weight yarn together.
You can buy the pattern on Ravelry or direct from Purl Soho for $9.
