The Brown Sheep blog has a great post about how to sew a sweater together that will be helpful if you haven’t pieced a sweater before.
It shows a toddler-sized sweater worked as a front, back and sleeves, and recommends steam blocking the pieces quickly before pinning them together and seaming.
The only thing that’s not clear in this description is when the sleeves are seamed (I do it at the same time as the side seams, so you can go all the way from the bottom up to the armpit and back down to the cuff all in one seam) but this is a good overview of best practices.
Do you have any seaming tips? I’d love to hear them!
