Knitting pillow covers is an easy way to add a little homemade flair to your decor, but it is usually important to be able to wash the pillow cases from time to time.
It was a problem that stumped JD over at Mom Made until she realized that knitting with large enough needles would make knitting that you could easily slip a button through, no buttonhole required.
Her simple knitted pillow cases are worked in the round, with a bit of ribbing at the edge but mostly in Stockinette. To make it even easier you could to a three-needle bindoff at the end so you wouldn’t have to do any sewing other than adding the buttons.
Have you knit cushion covers before? I’d love to know about your favorite patterns.
