Love the articles at Knitter’s Review. I subscribe to the newsletter and receive it weekly. One article by Clara Parks walks you through the major fiber festival highlights of 2007, in chronological order. Looking at the Upcoming Events calendar for 2007 makes you realize that it’s by far the biggest event calendar ever. It’s positively chock full of festivals, retreats, trips, and gatherings.
But its size and scope can be a little daunting. How do you know which event, and what kind of event may be best for you? Are you more of a retreat person, or perhaps you like trips and tours? Maybe a knitting show? Or are you an old-fashioned fiber festival kind of person?
Reading the rest of this article will help you determine which events to attend. I found two in Michigan in September that I would like to attend. One is the Michigan Alpaca Fest in Birch Run (has a great outlet mall also) and the other is Mt. Bruce Station Sheep and Wool Festival in Romeo, which is really close to me!
There are so many events listed that it will be hard to just pick a few.
