If you’ve ever been stumped when you go to the yarn store, check out these five tips for buying yarn from the Martingale and Co. blog. This list assumes that you have a pattern in mind so you’ll be looking for a specific kind of yarn, but even if you don’t some of the information about navigating the yarn store should be helpful for you.
I think it’s so important to get the lay of the land in a yarn store before you really start shopping. I like to wander around, see how things are laid out (some stores do it by fiber content, some by color, some by brand), maybe touch a few things that look interesting. But on my first go round I never make any purchasing decisions unless I know there’s something specific that I need.
Are you strategic when you shop for yarn? I’d love to hear your tips.
