Here’s a cool use for both knitting and technology: an electronic music composer, challenged to come up with a more exciting MIDI controller, knit conductive thread along with yarn into scarves connected wirelessly to a piano. When the person wearing the scarf moves, the piano plays.
The result if Jeff Bryant’s Push_Push project, in which a dancer wearing the scarves manipulates the piano. Viewers can’t see the connection between the dancer and the piano, making for a bit of magic thanks to a circular knitting machine, some cheap electronics, a piano and a lot of creativity.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some patriotic knitting patterns.
