Adding edging to a simple knitting project is a great way to make it look more interesting. You can even add edgings to things that aren’t knit, such as purchased skirts or a plain fabric blanket.
This knit edging shared by Interweave was originally published in Lydia Scott’s column in the Daily Union of Manchester, N.H., on June 5, 1884.
It’s a pretty simple combination of yarn overs and decreases and is worked starting on 7 stitches, so you can make it as long as you need for whatever project you like.
Have you ever knit a lace edging to add to a project? I’d love to hear about it!
