A Cozy Cardigan Knitting Pattern for Staying at Home

June 18, 2020 by Sarah White

I basically live in a cardigan all the time when I’m at home (I even call it my housecoat), but after months of wearing the same storebought sweater every day I’m thinking about knitting myself a few more so I can have some on rotation.

The Common Ground cardigan by Elizabeth Smith is a nice elevated basic. It’s worked from the top down with a Garter Stitch yoke and Stockinette body with a little bit of lace and an optional hood.

The pattern comes in nine sizes and calls for Cascade Yarns Ecological Wool, which comes in huge skeins. For an everyday around the house version I might use superwash wool. Or not.

You can get the pattern on Ravelry for $7.
