This week’s free pattern from Classic Elite Yarns is the lovely Chevron Eyelet Scarf, a great project for summer when you need something to throw on in cooler moments.
In addition to being pretty and easy, this scarf offers you a lesson in contrasts because it’s shown worked in two different fibers — a baby alpaca/bamboo blend and an alpaca/merino/nylon sock yarn.
Both versions are pretty, but the version with bamboo has more shine and is a little cooler than the other. There’s a little more drape and silkiness to that version, too.
Neither one uses much yarn or would take all that long to knit, so you can try both and see the difference for yourself.
Which one do you prefer? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
