I’m one of those people who needs a shawl or a sweater handy all year long because air conditioning in the south (even in my own home) is often too much for me to stand. So I’m loving this pretty little Summer Rose Capelet from FitzBirch Crafts.
It has a great scalloped edging but is otherwise a pretty simple knit that you can throw on over a summer dress to ward off the chill. The repeating stockinette/reverse stockinette bands are striking and easy to knit without a lot of effort. And of course the knit roses make a big statement without a lot of work.
What do you use to protect yourself from air conditioning?

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
This is soooo cute and feminine – I have trouble keeping shawls where they blog, and I worry about looking like an old lady as I am now middle-aged with encroaching gray hair. This is youthful and unfussy – it’s definitely going on my to-make list!
I follow Fitzbirch Crafts and its a great blog and I have just finished this and its great and looks fantastic.take a look at their site they have some lovely patterns that are so usable
