If you’ve never knit a sweater before, summer is a great time to learn. The techniques are the same for a short-sleeved top as they are for a long-sleeved sweater, but it doesn’t take as much time to knit a short-sleeve version.
This top-down knit pullover from Caron/Yarnspirations uses a self-striping yarn so it’s really easy but doesn’t look that basic.
It uses simple increases in the circular yoke and the rest of the body is straight for a quick knit and a relaxed look.
Don’t have self-striping yarn handy? Grab some odd balls and make your own stripes!

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
