Thinking about holiday gift knitting? You probably should have already started, but I’m not here to judge. Here’s an easy pattern you might want to check out — the Spiral Gyro cowl by Vickie Howell.
This project uses just two skeins of her Sheep(ish) Stripes yarn, which means it’ll run you about $15 in supplies if you already have a suitable circular needle.
It’s worked in a pretty easy 12-round repeat for a spiraling rib pattern that’s interesting to knit but not too much of a challenge so you can whip one of these out pretty fast.
Are you knitting for the holidays? Are you finished already? I’d love to hear a status report!

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
