I know there’s a lot that’s intimidating about knitting socks if you haven’t done it before, but once you’ve successfully turned a heel you’ll feel really powerful and wonder why you were intimidated for so long. Promise.
But if you’re not quite ready to commit to heels and toes, try this pattern for yoga socks from Studio Knits.
I’ve actually meant to make some yoga socks for a long time, not that I do yoga that much, but it would be fun to have some. The fact that these socks are missing the heel and toes mean they aren’t as slippery for doing yoga poses, and you can keep your feet a little warmer if you’re a person like me who always has cold feet.
The beauty of yoga socks aside from their utilitarian properties is that they don’t have any shaping. All you have to do is bind off some stitches and then cast them back on to make the hole where the heel will go. Otherwise it’s essentially a tube.
Have you ever made yoga socks? Any tips? We’d love to hear them!
