Somehow in the busyness of spring I pretty much completely missed the latest issue of Knitty (though now that I’m seeing it I need a Vanora on my needles, stat) but I did see when this season’s surprise came out and I’ve been meaning to share it for a while.
Puctilious by Merri Fromm is a bottom-up, short-sleeved sweater worked in sport-weight yarn, so it’s perfect for warm weather.
It has a split hem so you don’t have to worry about your stitches getting twisted at the start, drop shoulders that are easy to knit and to wear, and a bit of fun ribbing to emphasize the neckline. And the body is mostly Stockinette so you can have one stitched up before summer even starts.

We’re a big Studio Ghibli household, and while they are sometimes very protective of their copyrights (as evidenced by the number of patterns on Ravelry that were removed from the service when it received a takedown notice back in 2021), there are still a fair number of Totoro knitting patterns (as well as other designs I’m sure we’ll get to someday). Let’s check them out!
