Earlier today I was writing about washcloths and dishcloths as a great summer knitting project option, but of course there are other small projects for the home that are great to knit when it’s hot out.
A wonderful example is this table mat from Classic Elite Yarns. It’s a really pretty pattern, worked in some fun yarns, and the bias knitting aspect of it makes it just a little bit more fun to knit.
Once you whip up a set for your table, you could knit another stack and sew the end to end to make a table runner, too. Or use the pattern and yarns from your stash to make a bunch of non-matching place mats to use together.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
