Heidi from Hands Occupied is a bit of an intarsia activist these days. Thanks to her Intarsia Mountain project, she’s been writing a lot about the ins and outs of this colorwork technique over the past few months.
She just released a Checked Snood (another word for a hooded cowl) knitting pattern that’s a great simple project for learning intarsia if you don’t already know how to do it.
The project is fluffy and warm and the perfect thing for snuggling up in before heading out into the cold. It’s worked flat using a provisional cast on for ease in making into a loop at the end.
You can wear it as a cowl or slip it over your head to keep out the cold. Check the blog for all the details.
