Patterns that combine knitting and crochet often feel like one craft or the other is an afterthought. While it’s nice to add a crocheted trim to a knit sweater or blanket, it’s even more fun when a project feels like the knitting and crochet aspects are given equal weight.
That’s how I feel about the Sutton Shawlette (there’s also a bandanna size) by Tori Yu. It’s a sweet little triangle worked in granny stitch crochet and Garter Stitch knitting.
It’s worked in fingering weight yarn but if you wanted a bigger shawl you could use worsted weight instead.
This looks like a fun, simple in a good way project for those who know how to knit and crochet, and a great one to wear to confuse the muggles so when they ask if it’s knit or crocheted you can say yes.
You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.
