I know it’s just barely officially summer, but we knitters need time to make things before we can wear them, so it might be almost time to start thinking about fall knitting, or at least those pieces that help us transition for over-air-conditioned buildings to cool evenings outdoors.
First Fall Knitty includes patterns for lacy cardigans, colorful hats and mitts, three cowls and two pairs of socks. There are also two sweaters fit for more masculine tastes, and a fun knit and felted diplocaulus toy.
My fave is probably the Cardiflower by Amy Gunderson, an airy little cardigan I would totally knit and wear now. Flywing by Laura Barker, pictured above, is a fun experiment in mosaic knitting that I also really like.
See something you want to knit? I’d love to hear about it.
