These socks from Knitgrammer combine stripes and colorwork flowers for a fun summery design that is inspired by the Finnish fashion brand Marimekko.
The construction is quite basic: the socks are knitted cuff down and the pattern comes with a German short row heel but the stripes keep you engaged with the project. The pattern is written for the magic loop method and comes in 5 different sizes.
This is a great project to learn colorwork knitting and the Ladder-Back Jacquard technique that is a method for catching long floats so that your colorwork fabric remains stretchy.
The pattern, designed by Ida-Maria Tyyskä, calls for light fingering weight wool and nylon blend yarn that is a great choice for a pair of summer socks. You can grab the free pattern from Knitgrammer.com.
