Knit crowns are a great addition to any kid’s dress up clothes. I made a completely simple Garter Stitch Crown for the girl a few months ago and she loves it. She’ll put it on, with a juggling scarf tied around her chest and little toy heels and be a princess at least once a week.
This knit crown patten from Chicken Stitches was actually designed for a boy’s Purim costume, but ti could be worn by kids of either gender and for any occasion or no occasion at all. This one is a little fancier than mine, made as it is with a provisional cast on and three-needle bind off (though of course you could just cast on and bind off in the normal way and sew the ends together if you’d rather), a slip stitch and picot edging and shaped triangle pieces all around instead of just in the front like mine.
Whichever you choose, the little king or queen in your life is sure to love it!
