I have lately been really into patterns with slip stitches made while holding the yarn in front, which means the float of the yarn shows on the surface of the knitting.
Knitting blogger purl3agony has designed a pair of fingerless gloves that are right up my alley. She calls them textured fingerless gloves, and they certainly are that.
These mitts combine a seed stitch edging with a traveling rib stitch along the arm part of the armwarmer and a slip stitch eyelet lace on the hand. She reports that this makes for a snug fit with a lot of interest, especially using a handpainted yarn like she did. Very cool (and warm, no doubt!).
