Bernat is celebrating a new range of colors in its Waverly by Bernat line and has released a few new patterns to go along with the new colors.
Waverly, if you don’t know about it, is a 100 percent acrylic yarn that’s 4-ply, medium weight and machine washable. The colors have a vintage feel and are great for graphic prints like those in the Graphic Gridwork Afghan and Pillow pattern (opens as PDF).
The pattern is for intermediate knitters and features a three-color pattern worked in panels of intarsia. The one bright color pops both because of the contrasting shade and because it’s worked in a different stitch pattern. What a fun thing to have to throw over your couch (and yourself on cold days).

We’re a big Studio Ghibli household, and while they are sometimes very protective of their copyrights (as evidenced by the number of patterns on Ravelry that were removed from the service when it received a takedown notice back in 2021), there are still a fair number of Totoro knitting patterns (as well as other designs I’m sure we’ll get to someday). Let’s check them out!
