Since today seems to be shaping up to be a day about socks, I thought I’d share this easy free sock knitting pattern that came across my desk this morning.
It’s from Plymouth Yarn Company and uses their Sakkie yarn, which is new for the fall. This mohair/superwash merino/nylon yarn comes in 13 colorways, of which a few are solids but most are multis. It’s fuzzy and (I imagine) soft, and wouldn’t be great for really detailed patterns but holds up well in this easy ribbed sock pattern (PDF).
Ribbed socks are great for newer sock knitters because they hug your feet better than a plain stockinette sock would, so they fit a little better even if they’re not the perfect size for you.
