I love Seed Stitch. It’s probably my favorite easy texture (well, I love Moss Stitch, too, truth be told).
It’s great for a lot of reasons. It’s super easy to knit, because as long as you know the difference between a knit and a purl on the needle you know what to do.
It’s a pretty fast pattern even with all that switching back and forth, and it looks great in chunky yarns, which speeds up the process even more.
It’s a stitch pattern that lies flat, so you don’t have to use an edging, and it looks great on people of all ages and genders.
If you’re itching to knit some Seed Stitch, check out this super simple scarf from Posh Patterns Blog. It’s straight Seed Stitch worked in bulky yarn. Easy, quick, fun and a great project for beginners or anyone who likes the organic, nubby look of Seed Stitch.
How do you feel about Seed Stitch? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

For borders, I like seed stitch better than either garter stitch or ribbing. Garter stitch pulls up lengthwise and ribbing pulls up crosswise. Seed stitch does neither.

Kind of new to knitting. I like the seed stitch and the double moss stitch. Struggling to learn the blackberry/trinity stitch. Texture is wonderful in knitting – IMO
