Cabbage Patch Dolls — at least the ones I grew up with — had pretty distinctive yarn hair. So it makes sense that people would try to re-create that look with knitting and crochet.
Over at Craft Bits there’s a really cute pattern for a Cabbage Patch Doll beanie that says its sized for kids up to a year (though the model looks older than that).
It’s worked in a simple two-round pattern repeat, with yarn hair joined at the sides to create braids or ponytails.
This is really fun because you can make it just the color and style your child would like, and it’s a bit of a throwback for you, too.
