I get a lot of announcements from yarn companies and stores about new patterns, and I admit I ignore a lot of them. But this pretty hat caught my eye the other day and I wanted to share it with you.
The Montara hat pattern from Freia Handpaint Yarns uses a pretty zig-zag pattern and what looks like a bunch of different colors, but its actually accomplished by working with two strands of the same colorway. How cool is that?
The pattern is available for $5.50, and in the yarn shown it would run you $36. That sounds like a lot for a hat, but it sure is pretty, and I’ll bet it would make you or whoever you knit it for smile every time they put it on.
