Spring cleaning means knitting new washcloths and dishcloths for all that spring cleaning, right?
The Emily’s Garden washcloth from The Kitchen Sink Shop is a cute little cloth with a bit of lace at the edges but still mostly Stockinette.
This is a great project if you’re just learning to work lace, or if you’ve got a housewarming or hostess gift to give, this washcloth with some pretty soap would be a lovely option. Of course you can also just knit it for yourself!
It calls for worsted weight yarn or two strands of lighter yarn held together. You can grab the \ pattern on Ravelry.

Why use dishcloths? Dishcloths are re-useable and save on kitchen waste. Most dishcloths are made using cotton yarn and can be thrown into the washing machine when dirty. This makes them very hygienic, especially when compared to kitchen sponges, which sit on the sinks for days if not weeks. Another great thing about dishcloths is when it comes to knitting the knit up quickly and are great for gift giving. Everyone needs a dishcloth. For gifting, It’s not something that has to be in fashion or a certain colour for the recipient to like it, though there are so many great dishcloth pattern designs out there.

It was when the pattern came out in 2022. It looks like she did them all as free patterns during the year then compiled them into an ebook to sell this year. Post is updated.
