Wanted to let you all know that I have a new pattern posted over at Craft Bits. It’s a really fun little baby blanket worked from the center out is a sort of spiral increase pattern that makes a sort of shifted square design that’s really cute and fun to knit.
I made mine with scraps from some other projects so it’s a little smaller than I usually make baby blankets, but I love the yarn and the colors and you can always make yours bigger by adding in a fourth color or using more of each color than I managed to. This one is all Stockinette Stitch, so it’s curly on the edges, which is why I added four rounds of single crochet in the same colors as the stripes. Even if you don’t crochet this is really simple and it helps to weight the edges down.
This one is heading to a friend in Massachusetts soon, where I’m sure his little one will get a lot of use out of it.
Do you like to knit baby blankets? I’d love to hear about your go-to patterns.
