I have been wanting to knit some plaid for a while but I haven’t gotten to it yet. The Little Bit Plaid Brimless Hat from Crafts Everywhere is a great option for folks who want to dabble in plaid or who might not have done a lot of colorwork before.
The pattern uses bulky or super bulky yarn and is available in toddler, child and adult sizes.
You could also just knit the plaid part (or a bit of the plaid part) to make an ear warmer or headband if you’re not looking for a full hat right now.
Check out the pattern and buy it on Etsy.

We’re a big Studio Ghibli household, and while they are sometimes very protective of their copyrights (as evidenced by the number of patterns on Ravelry that were removed from the service when it received a takedown notice back in 2021), there are still a fair number of Totoro knitting patterns (as well as other designs I’m sure we’ll get to someday). Let’s check them out!
