I love resuing old fabrics and textiles in different projects, and Evelyne from Nemcsok Farms has a great way to use an old sheet for a fun purpose.
She cuts up a twin sized sheet and then knit it with size 25 mm (which is a US 50) knitting needles to make a large rag rug.
This is such a great idea, and I love the time-saving step of sewing the sheet into a tube before cutting it into strips so you can make a continuous piece of “yarn” out of it, which is much easier to work with and doesn’t require a bunch of knots (or sewing all the strips together, which just sounds awful).
Have you ever used old sheets or other fabric in knitting? I’d love to hear about it.
