It feels like I haven’t shared any blanket or afghan knitting patterns in a while, and it’s high time to do so for folks in the Northern Hemisphere. It might not be cold yet, but it’s coming, and if you start a blanket now, even if you’re a slow knitter it will be long enough to keep you warm while you’re knitting it in no time.
The Shi Show Blanket from Lion Brand Yarn is a great example of a quick knit blanket that will keep you super cozy while you’re knitting it and after.
It uses a variety of different Lion Brand yarns including Wool-Ease Thick, Fifty Fifty and Go for Faux.
It’s all super bulky yarn so you can use what you have in the house, hold two strands of worsted together, whatever you like to give it the same scrappy look. Having yarn of different textures definitely adds to the fun but isn’t essential.
You can download the free pattern and/or buy a kit with all the yarn you need from Lion Brand.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
