Since the death of David Bowie earlier this year, we have seen that lots of crafters were or have since been inspired by this groundbreaking singer.
Nicole Winer took inspiration from a Kansai Yamamoto-designed Fair Isle outfit Bowie wore during the Ziggy Stardust era and made a colorwork chart so the rest of us can knit our own armwarmers, legwarmers, tops and more inspired by the colorful artist.
The chart, found on Vickie Howell’s website, uses multiple colors and is a 20 stitch, 69 row repeat. I started using it to make a scarf in the round on 40 stitches, but I’m sad to say I haven’t even made it through the first repeat yet.
Still, it’s a super fun project and a great way to remember a man who inspired so many people to express themselves.
