A L-O-N-G time ago, when I first started writing about knitting for About, I learned about the Red Scarf Project, an initiative of Foster Care to Success, a program that helps young adults transitioning out of the foster care system.
They collect red scarves in the fall and winter that are distributed to people they work with, and Bare Naked Wools does a Red Scarf Project fundraiser every year in which proceeds from pattern sales go to the project.
One of the featured red patterns this year is the Bongi Wrap, designed by Noma Ndlovu. It’s a pretty rectangle made of twisted rib, cables and Stockinette, and it looks super warm and cozy.
There are three different length options depending on your needs and is worked in worsted weight yarn.
You can get the pattern for $7 (or leave an additional donation) at Bare Naked Wools.
